Song Title: Here We Go Again
Artist/Band: Riddlin Kids
Genre: Punk, I guess...
Lyrics: Here
Comments from Patti: This song makes me laugh everytime I listen to it, simply because I can imagine being the girlfriend it talks about in the song. I'm a control freak with a freaky temper, I admit.
Song Title: Mad World
Artist/Band: Gary Jules
Genre: Hell if I know.
Lyrics: Here
Comments from Angel: Where are my fellow Donnie Darko fans lurking? If you've seen this spectacular movie, then you already know this song(and love it!).
The first time I heard it, I may have fallen in love with it because of how perfectly it fit the scene. Now, I love it because of what it is and what it means. If you're curious or unsure, read the lyrics
first. Jules' manages to capture the mood that one would feel in that situation--or maybe just me. Anyway give it a try, and while you're at it, watch Donnie Darko! :)
Song Title: May it Be
Artist/Band: Enya
Genre: New-Age
Lyrics: Here
Comments from Patti: Excerpted from the booklet included with the 4-CD collector's edition:
Written for the Peter Jackson film epic of Tolkein's "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" the song "May it Be" is written in both English and the Elvish language, Quenya. Quenya means "speech" and was known as the "Forbidden language" or "the language of the kinslayers". It was a language used primarily in ancient song and ceremony and in the language of love. "May it Be" or "Nai" in Quenya, is usually used by Elves to express a wish.I can't add much more than that, other than this was the song that played initially while the credits were rolling at the end of the first film. Its a sad but hopeful song.
Song Title: A Century of Fakers
Artist/Band: Belle & Sebastian
Genre: Indie
Lyrics: Here
Comments from Angel: This song title pretty much explains everything. I'm not really sure what else to say. I love Belle & Sebastian and so should you?
This song is soft and feel-goody. If you didn't listen to the words, I'm sure you could imagine that it was a love ballad.
